Ok. I’ve thought many times about the different ways that we could discuss this timeline. I think the best is to go full Groundhog Day style and give you each account individually so you can see how absolutely different they all are.

    Jessica
    Jessica and Vernel
    • Jessica said they slept in the back of the SUV the night before Deorr went missing and they were woken to Isaac beating on the window saying “wakey wakey eggs and bakey” which annoyed her. She describes Isaac holding a spatula, and he had been cooking breakfast. She says this was 8-8:30 AM
    • In a later statement, she then says that after they woke up she cooked breakfast
    • 10am she started her period and has to get feminine products from the Stage Stop
    • They drive the ½ hour to 45 minutes into Leadore to get feminine products. Except once they arrive at the Stage Stop, Vernal tells her that getting diesel is his first priority so they have to find that first and get lost in Leadore trying to find diesel.  She says “ok, I guess I’ll wait… I’ve waited like 2 hours now.”
    • Jessica says they went down a gravel road that had nothing on it so they turned around and finally found a feed store with diesel.
    • She also mentions in another statement that the person at Stage Stop told them they’d have to go get diesel across the street, and they’d have to pay for it at the Clover Creek Motel which does not exist in Leadore.
    • Then they drive back to the store. Jessica got Deorr out of his car seat and they went in for tampons. She says she helps DeOrr pick out his candy, she goes to the restroom, and then she buckled DeOrr in the carseat and gave him some potato wedges.
    • They arrived back at the campsite about 1PM. Isaac and Bob had been fishing, and they told them about all the fish they caught. They get their fishing poles and head to the water and ask Deorr if he wants to come with them or stay with Bob. He elects to stay with Bob. They say Bob is turned like he is acknowledging he will watch Deorr and Deorr walks toward him. She walks a few more feet, turns around to make sure that Deorr is still there and he is.
    • Jessica says they are fishing for about 20 minutes or so and exploring the creek area. She says their dog is with them. She finds an area of land in the middle of the water and goes there to fish. In some statements Vernal is with her. In another, he is at the truck with Deorr, and she does not see him during this time. In another statement, Isaac is with them fishing.
    • Jessica says she hears Vernal screaming from the campsite, but she can’t understand what he’s saying. She drops her fishing pole where she stands and runs up the hill. In some statements, they search for 15-45 minutes.
    • Ok so who called 911????

Remember, before Jessica’s mother said she told Jessica to call 911. We also have statements from Jessica saying “we need help, we have to call 911.” In another, she confirms Vernal’s account that he drives a ½ mile up the road to get service. In another, she immediately says to call 911.

In her written statement, she says that she heard Vernal talking to someone and says that he referred to Lil Man as “goobs” and that he was lost. She went back to the campsite and Vernal was saying “goobs is gone, we can’t find him.” Then Vernal drove down the road to call 911. She says she also saw her dog Missy at the creek coming back so she stuck Lil Man’s blanket in her face for the dog to go find him. The dog ran back to the creek, up a ways and then back to the campsite and up the way Vernal had driven. Then Vernal comes back asking if she found Lil Man, to which she replies no. He now says (after driving up the road and coming back) “ok now I’m REALLY calling 911.” She then calls her mom to be sure she can even make a call and be understood before trying 911 and calls her mom 5 times before it goes through. Her mom tells her to call 911.

    Isaac
    • Says he woke up about noon on July 10th, everyone already had breakfast at that time and Jessica, Vernal and DeOrr were getting ready to head to town
    • He and Grandpa fished for a bit at the creek behind the campsite
    • He confirmed that DeOrr was in fact at the campsite
    Vernal
    • Vernal says that “by the time he got breakfast cooked and everyone fed, it’s about 10AM.”
    • He says they drove into town and Bob asked them to be back by 11AM which I believe has to be a misspeaking.
    • He says he wanted to “top off” his diesel truck and the first place he went only took cards and they just had cash. So they continued into Leadore and found a place that was out of fuel. They then drove to a third place who told them to drive to the back and got fuel. On the way to this location, Vernal states that he misunderstood the directions he was given and made a wrong turn and Jessica informed him that he needed to turn around because the only thing on the road was houses on both sides.
      • Vernel says this took about an hour which investigators find very odd because you can see ALL OF LEADORE in one shot. It’s open and it’s the size of my mother’s Jack Russell basically.
      • In another statement, Vernal says the diesel guy tapped on the window, played with Deorr, they talked a little, he started filling up the tank but then he ran out of fuel.
      • When police question this guy, this does not check out. He says they never ran out of fuel. He also denies playing with Baby Deorr, because he says Deorr was not there. He remembers the car seat but not a child in it.
    • Then they went to the stage stop. He says Jessica got tampons, he ordered potato wedges, got all the candy everyone asked for and talked to 3 different people in line, one being the Budweiser beer guy before leaving. He says Jessica paid, then went to the restroom and while she did that, he got DeOrr to the carseat and buckled him in, giving him potato wedges and donut holes while they waited for Jessica to come back.
    • In another statement, Vernel said that Jessica went in alone and that he and Deorr ran into the Budweiser guy and they talked and high fived and all sat him up in the truck.
      • The Budweiser guy never saw the child, “I would remember putting a child in my truck because it’s against company policy and we park in the back of the store, not the front of the store. All vendors are required to do that.”
    • Now they’re fishing for about 20 mins. Vernal says he walks back up the hill and called out to Bob to ask where Deorr is to show him the fish. Bob said “I thought he was with you.” Vernel says Bob showed no emotion, and that he’d be found, not to worry.
    • Vernel then says he ran around screaming and looking for 15-45 minutes.
    • Then Vernel got in the truck and drove up the road.
    • Vernal said it was his idea to call 911. He even went a step further and said that Bob told them not to call, he’s around here somewhere.
    Grandpa Bob
    Grandpa Bob
    • Bob is pretty tight lipped about things. However, he made a huge contradiction in his statement. In one statement he knew nothing about having to watch DeOrr while the parents go fishing. However, in his statement to LE, he had turned his head momentarily from keeping an eye on him and when he turned back, he was gone.
    • There are also discrepancies about the 911 call. Vernal said Bob said not to call 911, it’s no big deal, he will be found. Jessica was asked if she asked Grandpa if they should call 911 and he said “well, yeah, you have to.” Bob said he did not know 911 was called until after the fact.
